Expository Writing

By debkelly

Our class is learning to use expository writing to give facts, explain ideas, or provide directions. We are writing our own how-to pieces. Our drafts are being shared with our writing groups, and we hope that the members of our group will help us revise and edit our expository writing to make our ideas more clear to our readers. What are some tips you would give someone who wanted to write a great how-to expository piece?

    Hi Abby,
I always enjoy reading the things you write, I still have the two stories you gave me last year, do you remember? Of all the expository papers you wrote, I have to say that my favorites were about the Cherokee Indians & How To Cook Deer Steak. I like to learn new things and that is what I did when I read your papers, I’ll look forward to others in the future. I know that you love to read & write and it really shows. I’m so proud of you, keep up the excellent work!
